Leeds pubs are re-opening albeit with restrictions but good news of new establishments launching in May and some due to open in June and July.
The first new bar to open is Brew York based on New Briggate in the city centre. There are 4 cask ales from Brew York brewery as well as keg lines and tasty food.
The Crown Hotel in Boston Spa has re-opened after 9 years closure. It has undergone an extensive renovation and will offer cask ales from local breweries as well as being a dining venue.
A new taproom for North Brewing Co opened after lockdown at their new Springwell brewery site based at Buslingthorpe Lane.
2 new Wetherspoon pubs are due to open . Planned for June 8th is the first which will be the Golden Beam in Headingley, a £4million investment to redevelop the Elinor Lupton centre. The pub has retained the original auditorium for the main ground floor bar and will have an outdoor terrace.
The second planned to open on July 6th is the Stick or Twist. Many will remember the original which closed in 2018, well the replacement venue will be on virtually the same site (near the Arena) but on the base floor of the newly constructed high rise student accomodation there.
Work on the new taproom for Shadow Brewing is underway at the unit in Otley, due to open in summer this year.
Our Leeds breweries are busy releasing new beers. Nomadic have Freydis a 3.5% dry hopped ale and also WOT which is a 5.9% IPA ( for Women on Tap festival). Horsforth have produced a beer called White Rabbit 002 a double IPA at 8%!! North Brewing have 3 different flavoured Triple Fruited Goze beers. Concept have released 2 new pale ales, find them at their chain of pubs including the newly opened pub in Bingley.
Meanwood Brewery have taken delivery of a new 8BBL kit, expect to see more of their beers around Leeds.
Wilde Child Brew Co are strengthening their relationship with Morrisons by adding 2 more canned ales into selected stores nationwide. They also have 4 Jim Beam wooden barrels to be filled with Instant Hobo, available late 2021.
